A Poem
This is the last stanza of a poem originally written 3/29/05 for the 2004-05 Warrior Band. (Note: 20004-05 was the last WB to NOT receive a superior rating before our current streak began. I think this little section expresses our hopes for this year very well......
Warrior Band ....
never bland
sometimes grand
will they do the best they can?
hope so.....

* To anyone who helped at anytime on band folders this summer. It took many many hours but folders were finished by Mr W on Tuesday 7/27

* Next Drum Section practice is August 4, 10am til noon
* DM camp August 3-4-5-6
* Swim party 8/6, 5-8pm @NHS pool
* CG Camp August 9,11,12,13, 5:30-8:30pm
* CAR WASH Sat 8/14...SMS Cafeteria 8:30am to 1pm.... advance tickets available at swim party and CG Camp
* Band Camp August 16-18-19-20, 6-9pm @band room (and probably 17th as well)

- You know it is time to retire when .... former students contact you to let you know that they are now GRANDPARENTS!
- I know of at least THREE married couples who were in the Standard Warrior Band together.
- Jennifer has returned!
- MR W enjoyed cool temps, clam chowder, and salt water taffy at the beach! And ran into Ruthie B and family doing the same!
- Kelsey B is out of town for 2 weeks. Hope it is a cool place!
Warrior Band This n' That
Thanks everyone for a great 2009-2010. To keep things going for 2010-2011, we must all PLAY this summer! Better yet, take advantage of our FREE summer lessons. And, even though attendance is optional, the more people who attend band camp (begins 8/16), the better. Mr W is in and out of the band room this summer most weekdays. If you need something, call 392-2130, ext 5133 to see if he is there.

FLAMES Band/Guard Shirts are in stock and now available to parents, friends, beginners, ANYONE! ALL SIZES ARE AVAILABLE !!!. (YL, SM, MED, LG, XL, XXL, XXXL) ... $12 for YL, and adult sm-med-lg-XL. $14 for XXL. The other 2 girls in the DM picture are wearing FLAMES shirt. The back has a flaming treble clef and "warrior band and guard"
HOODIES
**** PULL OVER STYLE $30 for adult sm-med-lg-XL, $32 for XXL. Red Hoodie with STANDARD in black/white block letter across the front. Warrior Band & Guard on back. Only size 2 size LARGE left! No more until next year!
**** ZIPPER STYLE $35 XL, $37 XXL and $39 XXXL... 3 XL, 4 XXL, 2 XXXL are left. Back is same as pull-over. Last year front was blank, this year left chest will have same logo as flames t-shirt front.

Drum Majors
The Standard Warrior Band is known for having great drum majors. For 2010-11, our two eighth grade DM's will be Lizzy F and Shelby R. Our seventh grade assistant DM will be Faith G. They will be practicing all summer and attending camp August 3-4-5-6.
