California Keyboards
Do not let the name fool you. They are a local store and also rent/sell band instruments and sheet music. They have a franchise with a nation-wide internet store, so their selction is huge and prices are good. Some of the band info links on their site were not working last time I checked, but at least you can get address and phone number from here.

Stockdale Music
Here is the website of another of our local stores. Local stores have the advantage when it comes to servicing the instrument when it needs repair.

Nick Rail Music  is in Santa Barbara and other southern CA locations. But they also have a representative who visits bakersfield to provide local service

Sheet Music Online (NEW 6-8-08) Just found this site. Seems to have good prices and selection if you are looking for music/song books for your individual instrument(s)

ARMAS MUSIC is very old school and has no webpage, but they are locally owned and family operated and provide good friendly service 322-0851
