Warrior Color Guard Goals 2009-10

Be as positive as possible in everything we say and do.

II  To always try to improve in each thing we do and do everything to the absolute best of our ability, whether it is in practice, in the band room, on stage, or in competition.

III  To use our practice time and class time wisely, with as little wasted time and effort as possible. (Always keeping goal #2 in mind) This would include trying to be ON TIME, with all needed equipment and and in the correct shoes for all practices.

IV  In public or in private, before - during - or after competitions, on stage, on the street, or in the band room, to always represent ourselves, SMS, and our community with pride, dignity, and discipline. In other words, we want to show some class at all times.
A. We want to show courtesy and respect at all times to others, including adult volunteers and chaperons, other bands, and to our fellow guard members
B. We will leave "trash-talking" to others. Our team will show our class and abilities through our actions.
C. We will always try to leave an area cleaner than we found it, whether it is the band room, a practice room, a school bus, bleachers at a competition, or anywhere else. We will not use the phrases "I did not do it" or "It's not mine", etc. as excuses for leaving a mess. Trashing the band room or a practice room shows no class!
V  We need to be a guard full of "helpers". Everyone needs to be both a learner and a teacher. As learners, we must be willing to listen to anyone trying to help us. As teachers, we must be always willing to help others learn.

VI  To use goals #1-5 as a team to learn a lot, improve a lot, have fun together, and keep the SMS tradition of having one of the best JH/MS guards in Kern County, alive!
